Providing Long Term Support for Cedar Bend Humane Society

Cedar Bend Humane Society is an open-admission, full-service animal shelter in Black Hawk County. They accept all animals regardless of age, breed, behavior, or health and make every effort to give them a loving home.

The Waterloo Community Foundation is pleased to announce the establishment of the Cedar Bend Humane Society Endowment Fund. An anonymous donor has generously contributed the initial funds to create this endowment that provides long-term support for the Cedar Bend Humane Society to fulfill their mission of placing animals in lifelong loving homes, educating on humane care, teaching responsible pet ownership, and sheltering stray animals.

“The Cedar Bend Humane Society is excited to partner with the Waterloo Community Foundation, and we are very thankful to the donor who initiated and created this endowment. What a wonderful gift to the homeless animals! This fund will help ensure the longevity of the shelter and ensure refuge and care for hundreds of neglected and abandoned pets for many years to come!” says Cedar Bend Humane Society Executive Director, Kristy Gardner.

Community members who wish to contribute to contribute to the Cedar Bend Humane Society Endowment Fund can do so online at https://wloocommunityfoundation.org/donate/.

Checks can also be mailed to the Waterloo Community Foundation, PO Box 1253, Waterloo, IA 50704. All checks can be made out to the Waterloo Community Foundation with “Cedar Bend Humane Society” in the memo line.
