Janet Holden and Jane Rohlf, sisters with a shared passion for community impact, recently made a generous contribution to House of Hope’s Extending Hope Capital Campaign. Together with their husbands, L. Sam Holden and Ted Boyer, both manage Donor Advised Funds through the Waterloo Community Foundation. They credit this relationship for connecting them with the opportunity to bring the dream of a new House of Hope Empowerment Center closer to reality.
The House of Hope Empowerment Center is a two-story, 6,000-square-foot space designed to serve as a hub for single mothers in the community. The center will provide space for programs focusing on wellness, education, career and life skills education, financial mentoring, family support, children’s programming, childcare, and much more. This exciting expansion will allow House of Hope to serve 60-80 additional women and families annually.
The Empowerment Center will open in Fall 2025. For more information about the Extending Hope Capital Campaign Project or to contribute, please visit https://houseofhopeccd.org/.
Janet and Jane value how a relationship with the Waterloo Community Foundation connects them to impactful local projects and organizations – some they have never heard about! We love helping donors align their giving with evolving community needs, offering guidance to make a lasting difference in the city we love.
