This fund is established to support the purchases of specialized fire service equipment, additional training for personnel, and other expenses that would traditionally be outside the normal city operational budget.

Veteran’s Way Fund

This Fund supports the Veteran’s Way project including the Sullivan Brother’s Memorial Plaza, Cedar River Bridge Lighting, Unity Plaza, Commemorative Streetscaping, and Living Lamps Underpass. The project will also provide support to improvements to the Waterloo Convention Center.

Dr. Sam Christensen Scholarship Fund

A scholarship for Waterloo students established in memory of Dr. Sam Christensen. He was affectionately called “Dr. Sam” by all who knew him. Dr. Sam practiced pediatric dentistry in Waterloo until his retirement and deeply cared for Waterloo and the Cedar Valley.

Youth In Action Volunteerism Scholarship Fund

The scholarship was established to recognize volunteerism in students.
