East High School has a rich history of strong athletic programs and dedicated student-athletes. This legacy will be supported for years to come through the Forever Trojans Fund at the Waterloo Community Foundation.
The new fund was created to provide ongoing resources that will benefit athletic programs and facilities at the current East High location. As the Waterloo Community School District moves forward with plans to merge East High and West High in the 2028-2029 school year, the Forever Trojans Fund will continue to benefit students participating in athletics at the existing East High campus.
East High Head Football Coach, De’Carlos Anderson says, “East High has always been more than just a school — it’s a community, a tradition, and a place where students grow on and off the field. The Forever Trojans Fund ensures that our student-athletes will have the support they need to compete and succeed, no matter what changes come”.
Another way the East High community comes together in support of student-athletes is through the East High Alumni Golf Tournament, taking place on Friday, August 8th. This annual event raises funds for athletics and extracurricular activities, helping ensure East High students have access to the same opportunities and resources as their peers.
Together, initiatives like the Forever Trojans Fund and East High Alumni Golf Tournament reflect a shared commitment from alumni and community members to invest in the next generation of Trojans and carry forward a proud tradition. De’Carlos says, “It’s about honoring our past and investing in the future of Trojans athletics”.
