Windows on Waterloo Presentation – Unplugged: Cell Phones and Student Success

The public is invited to join the Waterloo Community Foundation on Wednesday, October 8 at 11 AM for a Windows on Waterloo webinar presentation.

This month’s session will focus on cell phones and their impact on student success. We will begin with an overview of The Anxious Generation, the book featured in our community book study earlier this year, to ground our conversation in research and the impact of technology on youth mental health. Waterloo Schools will share early insights, challenges, and lessons learned from their new cell phone policy launched this year. We’ll also hear from the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Cedar Valley about strategies they’ve put in place to help students balance technology use with focus, connection, and well-being.

Community members may join this free online presentation by visiting https://wloocommunityfoundation.org/learning-opportunities/ or by contacting the Foundation’s Program Manager, Paige Price, at paige.price@wloocommunityfoundation.org.

Windows on Waterloo is a Zoom educational series offered by the Waterloo Community Foundation that brings the community together to learn about important issues affecting our city. It’s a place to spark conversations, share ideas, and explore solutions to create a brighter future for Waterloo. These presentations are free and open to the public.
